Clinical Trials Update: May 7, 2008


(HealthDay News) -- Here are the latest clinical trials, courtesy of Thomson CenterWatch:

Women's Health

If you are a healthy woman, 75 years old or older, you may be eligible to participate in this study about aging.

The study will require a telephone call about health history and one or two morning visits of approximately two hours in duration at the General Clinical Research Center (GCRC), which will include a blood draw and questionnaire.

The research site is in Lexington, Ky.

Fibromyalgia

This investigation into possible treatments for fibromyalgia needs volunteers who suffer from the the following widespread conditions:

Muscle or joint pain, stiffness, fatigue, sleeplessness or difficulty in performing daily tasks.

The research site is in Edison, N.J.

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

The purpose of this clinical research study is to compare the medium dose of an FDA-approved combination drug with the higher dose of an FDA-approved combination drug for blood pressure control in patients who have failed to have their blood pressure controlled on a single antihypertensive agent.

The research sites are in various cities in Washington state.
